Biography

Michel Vounatsos co-founded Golden Age Health in 2023 and chairs the company. He brings to Golden Age Health the experience of building and leading one of the world's leading neuroscience companies, and two decades of commercial leadership in China, Europe and the United States.

Michel was Chief Executive Officer of Biogen and a member of its Board from 2017 to 2022. He joined Biogen in 2016 as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, and led the company's commercial organization during the launch of Spinraza, the first approved treatment for spinal muscular atrophy.

Before Biogen, Michel spent 20 years at Merck and Co. (MSD), from 1996 to 2016, in roles of increasing responsibility. These included President of Primary Care, President of Merck Customer Centricity and President of MSD China, as well as leadership positions across Europe. He began his career at Ciba-Geigy.
